How thoughts shapes beliefs.

         

Imagine that , your one of friend is very scary to math questions. Every time he sees the math problem his brain automatically make him scared. What might be the reason ? 

Well let’s figure it out. 

How beliefs forms.

Simple answer to this is, 

When a thought enters your conscious mind multiple times via different forms, then it goes to subconscious mind. Fact is subconscious mind don’t know wether it is good thought or bad thought, it simply accept what is repeatedly exposed. One thing we should consider here is subconscious mind work like program, it will take repeated inputs and embed into hardware of mind. 

This embedded thought in return shapes our perspective to thinking and action. 


Breaking down in simple terms :

Thought Repetition: A thought enters your conscious mind (e.g., "you are bad in maths").

Subconscious Absorption: Through repetition, it will embeds into subconscious mind. 

Belief Formation: Over time, the repeated thought becomes an automatic belief.

Behavioral Impact: The belief influences how you perceive reality and guides your actions accordingly. (“You stop practicing math questions”).

Main point we should consider is the believe shape our perception to see the things. 


How beliefs shape perspective. 

Let’s see some examples of beliefs and how it shapes our perspective.

1. Self-Belief

Belief: "I am capable of achieving my goals."

Perspective: When we have such type of beliefs we will approach challenges with optimism and resilience.

Example: A student who believes in their ability to learn will persist in studying difficult subjects, while another who believes "I’m bad at math" may avoid trying.


2. Beliefs About Others

Belief: "People are generally trustworthy."

Perspective: This belief fosters a positive outlook on the way we see to peoples.

Example: Someone with this belief might easily form friendships. Conversely, someone who believes "I can’t trust anyone" may approach relationships with suspicion.


3. Cultural Beliefs

Belief: "Hard work leads to success" (common in many cultures).

Perspective: This belief shapes a perspective that effort matter over luck or privilege.

Example: An entrepreneur who holds this belief may dedicate long hours to building their business.


4. Religious/Spiritual Beliefs

Belief: "Everything happens for a reason."

Perspective: This belief can provide comfort during difficult times by giving the hope to live further.

Example: Someone facing adversity might find hopes during the difficult phase of a life.


5. Limiting Beliefs

Belief: "I’m not good enough."

Perspective: This belief creates a negative self-image and leads to a perspective of fear of failure.

Example: A talented artist might avoid showcasing their work due to the belief that it’s not good enough.


6. Societal Stereotypes

Belief: "Men are better leaders than women" ( its stereotype).

Perspective: This belief influences how leadership qualities are perceived in men versus women.

Example: In a workplace setting, someone holding this belief might unconsciously favor male candidates for leadership roles, even if female candidates are equally or more qualified.


7. Health Beliefs

Belief: "Exercise improves mental health."

Perspective: This belief leads to physical activity as essential for good well-being.

Example: A person with this belief is more likely to prioritise regular exercise.


There are the types of believes commonly seen by the researchers. What we learned is beliefs shapes our actions and perceptions.

How to use this knowledge. 

Became aware of thought sources 

Figure out from where does you are getting good or bad thoughts. 

Remainder : Man is the result of his or her own thoughts — James Allen.

Our thoughts are the food for action and in turn, our actions decides what our destiny will be.


Affirmations 

repeat positive affirmations daily (eg.. I don’t waste my time on the things which doesn’t matter to me ). over the time of repetition we unconsciously  start believing about the affirmation we are giving to the mind.


Mindfulness 

We had 30-40k thoughts per day out of which 90% are negative, so try observing and let them go by practicing mindfulness. In simple, Mindfulness will allow to Observe the thoughts and there thought pattern. That’s why practicing mindfulness becomes way more important.
